What We Offer
We offer a range of lesson packages and boarding options to meet the needs of every horse and rider. Riders must be at least 7 years old to begin lessons.
-
1 lesson at your scheduled time every week. When weather is not conducive to riding we will have indoor lessons where we can focus on a variety of horse related topics and activities. Be aware we do ride in all seasons and in light rain. Please dress appropriately for the conditions.
There are NO make-up lessons, credits, or refunds for a missed lesson, for any reason (illness, vacation, scheduling conflicts, etc.) — this is a firm condition of the discounted monthly rate. The only exception is if Abernathy Farm needs to cancel; in that case I will contact you to reschedule your lesson.
The monthly fee reserves your special time slot for the month. Invoices must be paid on or before the 1st of the month to receive the discounted rate. You must give us 30 days notice if you want to take a break from lessons. I you only want to try it for 1 month, just notify us at the start of the month.
Please be aware, if you cancel your monthly tuition, your special riding time is not guaranteed. Spots are limited and filled first come first served.
Be aware of seasonal lesson time changes during daylight savings time and school start and ending dates.
-
This is for riders that can not commit to regular lessons.
This is for people who just want to try out riding or are only in town for a short time
-
This is only for committed students in the monthly tuition program who would like to have additionalone on one time with the horse to practice the skills they learn in lessons and the opportunity to bond individually with the horse.
This includes your regular weekly lesson time plus 1 additional day to spend up to 2 hours for additional riding, grooming, or bonding time with the horse.
This package is the best bang for your buck because it is a flat fee of $400 regardless of how many weeks are in the month and allows for the most time with the horse.
-
We only offer pasture boarding at this price. Horses do have access to shelter or wind break and includes up to 6 pounds of the barn feed (Currently Southern States 12/8) once per day. Round bales are provided during the times of year when grass is not adequate.
If you would like to add additional ala cart services, they can be provided for an additional fee. Some common examples would be:
holding/hauling to the vet or farrier
different or additional feed
short or long term medical care
